Erez Rota: Milestones

1955
Born in Tel Aviv

1984 - 1988
Studies art at the Bat Yam Institute of Art

1986 - NOW 
Shows artworks in galleries and museums in Israel and overseas

1992 - 2004

Founds an agricultural-educational project at a Mevaseret Zion school and initiates additional

educational art projects for youth in Jerusalem and its satellite villages

1999

One of 20 artists selected by Tel Aviv Museum of Art to participate in the ‘Hiriya’ project, through artworks expressing a new environmental approach with emphasis on the rehabilitation of the Hiriya landfill site

2001
 “Sharkia” – a solo exhibition at the Engel Gallery in Tel Aviv

2003
Recipient of the Artist-Teacher Award from the Ministry of Culture and

Sports and the Ministry of Education

2004
Founds Rota Estate, an ecological farm and vineyard in the Negev, where

the artist lives and creates to this day
